Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
This position responds to and resolves various customer inquiries via
telephoneand correspondence, and resolves claims problems within
established productionand quality standards.
Answers incoming calls and written requests for information from members
orproviders promptly and accurately.
Composes routine and non-routine correspondence to answer member
inquiries thatrequire a written response.
Coordinates with other departments to ensure timely and appropriate
responses.
Expedites and resolves complex issues and makes claims adjustments.
Educates others on the Blue Shield product, providing accurate
information andupdates to policies and procedures, improving overall
customer satisfaction inthe process.
Works with minimal supervision.
Requires High school diploma or GED and two years member/customer
serviceexperience, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Claims processing or related HMO experience and/or training.
Ability to enter and retrieve data using computers with related
softwareapplications.
Excellent interpersonal, writing and business telephone skills.
