Processes new member enrollment and sets up new group accounts to ensure
on-lineeligibility for billing, health and ancillary products.
Processes health plan applications with a high degree of accuracy.
Analyzes applications for completeness and eligibility criteria.
Requests medical clarification or results for applicants.
Approves, declines or forwards applications to underwriting using Blue
Shieldguidelines, federal and/or state legislation as appropriate.
Gathers relevant information for underwriting and send required
documents todesignated contact person in a timely manner.
Communicates with new group contacts, brokers, underwriters and sales.
Requires High school diploma or GED and two years experience in
installationprocessing, claims processing and/or member/customer service
or relatedfunction, or equivalent combination of education and
experience
Ability to enter and retrieve data using standard keyboard functions.
Ability to meet heavy deadlines and follow detailed procedures.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
Proficiency with Windows based PC applications, including the Internet.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or
governmentregulations
Ability to write business correspondence and effectively respond to
questionsfrom brokers, agents and employees.
